Energy Accounts Payment Assistance (EAPA)
Glen Innes Community Centre provides assistance with electricity and gas bills through the Energy Accounts Payment Assistance program (EAPA).
To make an appointment phone the Glen Innes Community Centre on (02) 6732 1682. Appointments are available every Tuesday and Wednesday between 10:30 am and 2:30 pm.
To be eligible for assistance, you will need to provide evidence that you are experiencing a short term financial crisis.
The intent of EAPA is to help people in crisis to stay connected to essential energy services. It is not designed for ongoing support with usual household expenses.
Who is eligible?
A customer must meet all 5 requirements below to be eligible for EAPA.
1. The customer is the energy account holder with an energy provider and the account and bill are in the customer’s name.
2. The customer has an open and active account.
3. The energy account is for either electricity or natural gas for their NSW home.
4. The customer is in a short-term financial crisis or emergency and finding it hard to pay the bill.
5. The customer agrees to the EAPA Privacy Notice.
F.A.Q.s
How many vouchers per year can I receive?
An eligible client may be eligible twice in a financial year. Please note that this is not an automatic entitlement and the final amount of the financial assistance will depend on the personal circumstances of the applicant.
What information is required to apply for assistance?
We require a copy of your most recent bill and a photo ID. Please note that reminder notices will not be accepted.
What can I do if I have lost my bill or don’t have my original bill only my overdue bill?
You should call your energy provider and request a copy of your bill.
Can a family member apply for assistance on my behalf?
Yes, provided they have the authority on your energy account. You can nominate a relative or a friend by calling your energy provider.
Can I get assistance from my previous address/bill?
EAPA is provided based on the current and most recent bill for your current place of residence.

Please feel free to drop in and chat with the friendly staff at the Glen Innes Community Centre about any enquiries you may have. There are also flyers and brochures on the information board, which can be easily accessed.
